**Required Conditions: When you install your decal your surface temperature has to be at least 50°F and not above 90°F. If it's to cold your decal won't stick, if it's too hot your decal may stretch and slide. If necessary, move vehicle to a location where the temperature can be within the installation guidelines or wait for better weather.

**Supplies Needed: Squeegee (credit cards work too) / Lint free cloth / Surface Cleaner (isopropyl alcohol for best results) [Slip Solution (For Wet Application) - 32 oz. Sprayer filled with clean tap water and 1 (one) drop of dish detergent. Make sure you don't use too much soap.]

*The decal is made of Three Layers*

1. Top layer is the transfer tape.
2. Middle layer is the decal graphic.
3. The bottom layer is the backing.

STEP 1 "Clean the Surface Area" Determine the location for your graphic and then clean the surface with a lint free cloth and cleaner solution. Keep cleaning the surface until it’s squeaky clean. After doing this you should get a "squeaky" sensation when lightly dragging your fingers across the surface. This is very important because if you’re surface is not clean your decal won’t stick properly.

STEP 2 “"Dry Technique"” If you are really careful you can just remove the backing of the decal and place it in the desired position. Next rub the decal down with a squeegee or credit card. When you’re finished rubbing down the decal remove the transfer tape. Using this method you’ll only have one shot at it because decals are very sticky. The other option is using the wet technique.

STEP 2 "Wet Technique"” Remove the backing of the Decal, but before you apply it, spray down the back of half of the decal and spray the section of the body where the decal is going with your spray solution. Next, apply the letter onto the body and push the decal into the desired position with your fingers. At this point you can still lift and rearrange the decal if the position is off. That's the beauty of using the wet technique it's hard to screw up! Now that your overlay is in the desired position continue to squeegee with your fingers or a squeegee to get all the trapped air and water out from underneath the decal. After you finish rubbing the decal down you should wait about 5 minutes or more to let the decal "setup". After you have waited long enough you can remove the transfer tape. If the decal starts to come up with the tape wait a little longer and rub a little more.

Removing old decals from Windows: First spray the area with window cleaner. If you’re removing the factory decal badges you can work fishing line behind the decal and "saw" it off. Do not use a razor blade to remove decals.  You will damage your paint and regret it. To remove decals you can use your finger nail, but I opt for one of ZZPDecal’s' decal removal picks found on the website. Keep the surface wet while scraping away the decal. Use goo gone or another cleaner to clean residue.

Removing Decals or Stickers from the Paint: For stickers it is best to heat the decal with a heat gun or hair dryer and slowly peel the decal from the paint. Don’t use a razor blade because this can damage the paint. You can use a ZZP Decal removal pick without harming the paint as long as you use the pick with care. For large emblems on a flat surface you can run a fishing line behind the decal and use a saw like motion to remove it. Wash the area with GooGone or another natural cleaner to remove the sticky stuff left behind

**NOTE: Decals take about 48 to fully adhere to surfaces. If you want your decals to last don’t wash your car through a drive through wash for at least two days.
